Fort Peck Dam Interpretive Center and Museum

The Center's collections and programs address the significant history and resources of Northeast Montana: the construction of Fort Peck Dam, some of the best dinosaur fossils in the world, a rich native American culture, the Lewis & Clark expedition, homesteading and settlement, and among the largest wildlife refuges in the nation. The Center also serves as a memorial to the tens of thousands of people who toiled and suffered to construct Fort Peck Dam during the Great Depression.Construction of a 6 million dollar museum has begun and will officially open in 2005. The building will be located along the Missouri River at the foot of the dam.
